A Place for Poppy

Louisville, Kentucky

Interior design for people who actually live in their houses

Good rooms, put together with care. And a spreadsheet.

I'm Molly. I design warm, traditional rooms for families in Louisville and wherever the mail goes. Every board I make is shoppable, every price on it is real, and I will happily tell you when the sixty-dollar lamp is the right lamp.

Plate II. Molly.

Hello, I'm Molly.

I'm the person friends text from the furniture store. I've been putting rooms together for people I love for years: kitchens, nurseries, a lake house or two. A Place for Poppy is that, made official.

My taste runs warm and traditional. Olive and slate, old pine, a brass lamp with a proper shade, a stripe where you least expect one. But the job isn't my taste. It's finding your version of it and making it easy to live with.

§ 2 Portfolio

Every board, every option, every colour.

Nine projects, laid out page by page. Where I tried four paints on one wall or three rugs under one bed, the variants are folded into a single card so you can flick between them. Where there's a photograph of the real room, you can flip from the board to the room.

§ 3 Ways of working

Three ways to hire me.

  1. I.

    The Design Board

One room, planned to the last cushion. A layout, paint and finishes, and every piece linked with its real price, plus a cheaper alternative wherever one exists.

Best for: a room you're ready to tackle yourself.

  2. II.

    The Room Refresh

Keep the bones, fix the feel. We sort what stays, what moves and what goes, then add the paint, lighting and textiles that change everything.

Best for: a room that's almost right.

  3. III.

    Full Room Design

The board, then the doing: ordering, trades, deliveries and an install day. You come home to a finished room.

Best for: a bigger project, or a busy life.

    Enquire

Pricing is on the intro call, and it's the same number that appears on the invoice.

§ 4 How it goes
  1. I.

    Say hello.

A short note and a twenty-minute call about the room and the people in it.

  2. II.

    Show me the room.

Photos, a few measurements and a questionnaire that's more fun than it sounds.

  3. III.

    The board arrives.

Complete and shoppable, with options where they matter. We go through it together and change anything that isn't you.

  4. IV.

    Make it yours.

Shop the links on your own timeline, or hand me the reins. Either way I'm a text away until the last pillow is on.

§ 5 Enquire

Tell me about the room.

No pitch, no pressure. I read every note myself and reply within two working days.
